The rumors are in the air

Monday, December 24th, 2007

IMG_1752.JPGBack to a little bike stuff. So I trained the last couple days, I was surprised how I felt after a sporadic three months of riding. I don’t suck near as much as I thought I would. As for normal bike stuff I will get back on the soapbox. Riding on the open roads without a helmet is dumb enough and when I was out yesterday my mind was spinning and I couldn’t help to think about some of the guys I know who are fathers and still choose to be “old school” or “euro.” Come on guys, your kids need you. Sure your wives can find a new guy when your brain is rolling out of your skull but your children only have one dad and your it.

The rumor? It sounds like a cheater has been caught and it should be public soon. I can’t personally confirm anything and really hope its not true but if it is true somebody is going so have to pull their “f—ing” foot out of their mouth.

Taken care of

PICT0025.JPGSince Kayla clearly has some of the important things taken care of I can go for a bike ride. Normally I would call it training but at this point I think reintroduction to pedaling is a better term.

Going home today

Friday, December 21st, 2007

dan_sam.jpgEverything is still great and we get to go home today. Myriam is still doing awesome and I am trying to help as much as I can. Last night we had our first glimpse of whats to come as we were up off and on all night working with the little guy to keep as happy as possible. Most of it is feeding so I try and do all the clean up, prep and calming before and after so Myriam can rest as much as as possible. So far we are catching on pretty quick and trying to use the advice we have gotten mixed with the classes we took and out own intuition. Its crazy how the time runs together, minutes into hours into days.

Myriam is amazing, watching her made me so proud.

Samuel Michael Schmatz came Tuesday the 19th at 11:16pm. He came out weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches long.

Lots more later. Time to take Myriams mother to see Samuel.
