Vroom II

PICT0036.JPGSo I bought a big black truck a few weeks ago and found out pretty quickly it goes good in the dirt and snow and it quite fun. Today I got out in the dirt again and had just as much fun but this time didn’t cause all the erosion and pollution that comes with the 4×4 action of the Nissan. I opted for the 2 wheeled action of my BMC 4 Stroke. PICT0001.JPGI haven’t ridden off road in a couple years. I think last time was in fall of 2004 in Colorado and I got balled up in some rocks/snow and fell into some dead pine branches and ripped my hip open. The last time in Missouri was at Castlewood in a race and I rolled my front wheel off a rock wrong and tried to crush a rock with my knee. Today went much better. The park was almost empty and the light rain kept it nice and cool. I hit all the trials I remembered and found some that I hadn’t done. I need to thank my friend Matt for getting me the goods to build up the BMC and TK for actually building it. I don’t have much to compare it to but I really like this bike. I felt like I had heaps of control and could roll over most everything out there. In short….. Mountain biking is really fun.

Closer

My team stuff is moving along. Every day this week I have had good news and am that much closer to finalizing everything. I am thinking I will race less, maybe just local stuff. That way I could bring on another rider that has the full throttle mentality it takes to make it to the next level. I have some committed sponsors and am now negotiating with industry folks. I really wish I had started this a little sooner but a month ago I hadn’t even thought about starting a team so I guess I am happy with where I am at. My plan is to have a mix of younger guys and NRC veterans focusing on local/regional racing in in Colorado and the Midwest as well as 10-15 NRC races. I will get the guys to the races and in a position to get some results and provide an opportunity to get noticed by the domestic UCI teams. I am still probably a week away from being able to really move forward with making offers to riders but I am extremely confident it will happen and am 100% committed to doing it.
