Ivan won again and I didn’t do anything again. I’m not really sure what’s going on with me but I keep cooking it in the bunch kicks. Bad position, caught on the wrong wheel, cant push on the pedals hard enough and a few other things have happened since Merced. That combined with a little mental fatigue and I a cracking… Ojia tomorrow then I am home for a little recharge before next weekend.

We are staying the weekend in a house on the hill. I don’t have any good photos now but will take some tomorrow. I am ready for bed and wanting to read but my books are down in the car. The internet may suit my needs but sometimes it wakes me up. Man my life is hard.

I did a nice loop this morning then hung out for a bit before heading to Long Beach for a training crit. I was pretty fisted going into it and planned to just get some speed in but the high winds resulted in a little gutter racing for the first 20 minutes then it started to split up. I hit out into the crosswind and found myself off the front with Michael Johnson and Jamie Paolinetti. We rolled harder than I wanted so I only did about 20% of the work. The way they work the series is you earn points during the two sprints during and the final of race. Since this is the only race of the series I will do I didn’t contest anything and was happy to get the training in. Iwas off the front most the day it seemed like a safe course but as we did a cool down lap we came across a coulple guys laying in the yard, it didn’t look to bad so hopefully they are ok.

I am in Lake Forest staying with my friends matt and Deanna for my last week of spring California racing. I am not sure how many years I have stayed with them but it’s always great. Roxy is about Kaylas age and she is always my buddy, last year there was a new animal in the jungle named boogie but I have to admit I am not all that down with a bird that could rip my eyes out. This year there is another member of the gang. His name is Winston and like most terriers he doesn’t seem to understand that he weighs 8 pounds. I never consider myself a small dog fan until I come across one like this.

You have Roxy, Boogie, Winston and a interesting wheelbarrow:

I am not the smartest man in the world but I know there has got to be a better way to move dirt around than with a wheelbarrow with no wheels! whellbarrow.JPG

I still can’t ride up a hill

The race is just about to finish and I am in my hotel room typing. That’s not a good thing…..

Only a few laps in there were a heap of guys that didn’t make the bunch and I was one of them. I was trying to help our guys get/stay in the front before the course got narrow the best I could while still hanging on myself. At just about the KOM line I blew to bits, I spent the next K drifting back through the field and hurling the contents of my stomach. This is my third time blowing to bits on the sunset loop in similar fashion and the biggest disappointment for me is that I can’t help our team leaders on these courses.
